Past Life Regression Failure
- A failure in PLRT may occur at any stage: hypnotic trance, regression experience and desired outcomes. A failure is a rule rather than an exception.
- A 100% successful therapy for each and every individual and for all kinds of problems is a myth.
- A successful past life regression does not necessarily mean that it shall produce desired results.
- It is observed that a mind which failed to have successful regression experience can at times react quite severely; and we need to understand it as such. The failure in regression is a universally observed phenomena; it can happen to any therapist in the world and to any person particularly when he/she is in an analytical mode at the moment.
- I am sharing some guidelines to facilitate the regression experience and clearning of any karmic pattern.
- Try to incorporate Law of Attraction as described in following books: (a) The Secret and (b) The Power of Subcosuncious Mind. A recommended reading.
- Listen to self-regression audios of Dr. Brian Weiss; which can be procured from following source: http://www.brianweiss.com/cdinfo.html
- Maintain a dream journal
- Practice meditation for about 30 minutes every day and maintain a focus on the issue one wants to resolve; while meditating allow the mind to remain open to all the possibilities and flow naturally.
- The therapist assisted regression is always superior; and these procedures may be used for preparing the mind to open up for regression experience. Once opens up; one can re-visit a therapist for supervised regression.
- No time frame can be recommended for these exercises. There will be wide variations across individuals. Some would get prepared within a week and others may take months.
- Not all procedures need be followed. Any one or two procedures can be tried for about three weeks; if no results are achieved, can further be augmented with other methods
- In all the cases; one need to respect the mind for taking up time in getting prepared and opening to regression experience.

Failure in first attempt in PLR is a frequent occurring event. There are many reasons for this which have been discussed in same forum in the past. But there ways to handle this. I have converted 15-20 such cases, into successful PLR cases. I have reduced failure rate to less than 0.5 per cent (1 out of 200 cases). Some of the techniques are suggested below, which works:
- Ensure that the patient is not under influence of drugs/alcohol/ tranquilizers etc.
- The moment patient is not found “Suggestible”, don’t try further but call him again. Dont convey a “Failure” to the patient.
- I suggested them some light meditation exercises bases on breathing to calm down their Anxiety, Fear/Phobia, Worry, Tension etc and call them after 5-6 days.
- Next time, use different methods to test suggestibility. Many a times suggestibility is hidden, sense it care fully. Eg a pencil does not dropped in “Pencil drop test” but even a “Tingling sensation “ indicate suggestibility.
- Build up mutual repo and confidence with patient. Count even small success, move step by step and never loose your own confidence.

- Power to hypnotise doesn't rest with the therapist but depends upon the subject. If the therapist has ever hypnotised even one person then he is capable of hypnotising others as well.
- Probable reasons for failure (as brought up by clients during initial interview and subsequent exchange)
- Misconceptions regarding the procedure
- Anxiety
- Pre-occupation with some other issues
- Not comfortable with therapist
- Rushed up session
- Female client not comfortable alone in presence of male therapist and his male associate
- Therapist talking more and listening less.
- Client expecting miracles and cure for all their ills in ONE session alone.

- Many times clients come to me complaining, they went for PLR . and nothing
happened. they could not go into their past lives. May be the therapist was not good, and were cheated and so on - I would like to inform all of them, no therapists are bad, or they try to cheat. It can happened to best of therapists also.
- I hv seen that sometimes nature just blocks everything, it comes out only when it is right time for one.
- All therapists try their best to help. They all put so much of energy into it.

Background:
Earlier this year Dr Jain at Dr. Jain's Lab had taken up the initiative to provide assistance to people who have had failed/ unsatisfactory PLR experience in the past. During last couple of months I have successfully handled two such failed cases, details as follows:
Case-I:
Subject: Male/ 30 yrs/ Unemployed/ Divorcee/ No Kids/ Came to me about a month back after failed PLR session with some other therapist.
Reason for PLR: Seeking reasons and solution for current life issues.
PLRT in Brief:
In all 4 sessions were conducted at about a week's interval
- 1st session: Prep session
- 2nd session: Went into light trance but kept on narrating stories straight out of some television soap opera.
- 3rd session: Kept jumping between different images but honestly rejected them on his own saying he has seen this in some movie or serial. Finally regressed to a life as a monk in SE Asia, saw himself in some monastery witnessing some discussion. During integration had a look of self-realisation on the face and remarked "we do live many lives".
- 4th session: Went into trance easily and regressed to a life of Indian Barrister practicing in England. Had a show down with the judge who he said is the father in current life. Was debarred from courts for some time. Married his English secretary who he claims is his current life pursuit (girl he has soft corner for). Had 3 children, returned back to Chandigarh, India. Stayed back to take care of his ailing mother, his wife left him and went back to England. Continued practicing law in Delhi. Died in 1978 at the age of 80. Immediately saw himself in the womb of his current life mother.
Insights/ Learning:
- Events in past life and current life are very similar. His spouses left him for no fault on his part (so he claimed strongly). He chose his mother then and parents now over his wife.
- He has to take charge of his life and take steps to bring about necessary changes.
Inference:
Subject was highly obsessed with the thought that "everybody is out to hurt him in someway or the other". He had great contempt for his father and certain relatives on the paternal side. Was constantly blaming others for his unsatisfactory situation. Alongwith PLRT I used CBT to make him see his life in correct perspective. 7-10 days gap in between two consecutive sessions was deliberately kept to allow assimilation and integration of new information both as revealed by PLR and as given during CBT. To me it seems that combination of PLRT, CBT and counselling probably helped him in choosing the path for current life future, whether for good or for worse, remains to be seen.
MY COMMENTS:
Probable reasons for success:
- Initial exchange of information over email including education regarding the procedure.
- 1st session. Preparatory session involving :- One to one talk. Discussing entire procedure with the subject, clarifying various myths and misconceptions. Conducting tests as required.
- 2nd Session conducted after a gap of 7 - 10 days. During this gap client is made to practice CD assisted self-relaxation at least 3 -4 times a day.
- Subsequent sessions conducted on the basis of progress made by the client
